Fruit Fighters

A new challenger has appeared! Who would you choose in an epic fruit battle? A boxing apple, a kung fu banana, or a sumo pumpkin?
The theme of this project was to create a farmer's market inspired image, so I decided to add my touch and make a stylized scene, where fruits battle each other. I decided to use clay materials on the fruits, to enhance the fun and imaginative nature of the scene. Initially I was going to make the fruits as simple as possible, to meet the tight deadline, but the idea kept getting bigger and literally "grew legs on its own". I asked Adriano Dubiela (@adri.dubi) to help me with the characters' concept design, and after some discussions, they gained life. In the end, I modeled an ensemble of characters with legs, expressions and props to give them all different personalities. It was fun thinking about the characters and their backstories. Even though a carrot is not a fruit, adding it to the roster with a "do not carrot" attitude made the group more interesting, and strengthened its personality.
This was a super fun project, where my partner and I could discuss and collaborate with each other's ideas. Thank you for viewing! Hope you enjoy it!
